An aerial photograph of Pillsbury and surrounding neighborhood in the 1940’s. The Mill Tavern and Restaurant is in the bottom right corner. We are often asked about its location. The other striking element of this photo is the Springfield-Chicago-Illinois-Midland Railroad Roundhouse, which existed until at least 1955.
